So the weekend has been and gone. I have 7 more weekends to go before I leave, so training really has to be a priority. At least that is what I am telling myself when I struggle to get out of bed in the morning. The reality is it is cold...really cold. Nevertheless I feel satisfied that I did a reasonable training effort over the weekend. Saturday started with a personal training session in Poune's (pictured left) garage at 6.30am. For those of you that don't know Poune is personal training me in preparation for this trip. We have been doing sessions since October last year, and she somehow knows how to get that little bit extra out of me each week. Her favourite words of encouragement are, "come on, it's good for you..." yeah right, at that moment it never feels like that. She also runs the Friday morning run and box class from Kirribilli. There is nothing like watching the sun come up over the harbour no matter what season it is. Somehow the morning just slips away.

So Saturday morning was all about leg blasting...ouch and then Sunday we went for a ride to La Parouse. Megan joined myself, Jonathon and Rhys for a solid 40km ride (give or take a few km's). All in all it felt pretty good. Pace was reasonable and given the fact the guys were riding road bikes and Megan and I were on the MTB's I think we did well to keep up. Boy what a difference a few kilos makes...

This morning, I awoke to heavy rain. So easy to turn over and get another hours sleep....but I went to spin. Legs were burning for a first 15 min but gradually got into it.....happy I went.
So the start of a new week, fundraising to commence in earnest and list making for my departure to get underway...
